General Information about Cisco

Background

The Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) is a comprehensive 4-semester/280 hours course that trains students and in-transition workers to design, build, and maintain computer networks.

Students are also prepared for industry standard certifications including the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and network certifications.

The networking academy program is an e-learning model that delivers web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and instructor training and support.

With a curriculum developed by education and networking experts, the local academy for the networking academy program is being offered at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), while the regional academy is located at the National Information Communications Technology Development Authority (NiDA).

The academy prepares graduates for today's ICT demands and opportunities in Cambodia and the region. The demand for a highly-trained, networking-centric workforce is skyrocketing with the complexities surrounding the design, implementation and maintenance of an internet-based economy.

The Networking Academy program is giving people the skills they need to succeed at good-paying jobs in ICT and other industries.

Through an innovative partnership between NiDA, the UNDP, through Asia-Pacific Development Information Program (APDIP) and Cisco System, the Network Academies program will train students in Asia pacific counties with up to date IT curriculum to fulfill the demands and enormous opportunities of the information age while creating a qualified talent pool for building and maintaining networks.
