The program utilizes the "trainer of trainer" model. There are three levels to this training model. Cisco approved instructors train instructors from Cisco Academy Training Centers (CATCs). CATC instructors then train Regional Academy instructors and regional Academy instructors train Local Academy instructors.
The components of the training model remain the same at every level of the training process. This training model was developed to give the trainee varied perspectives on course content, including as a first-time reader, classroom participant, and first-time teacher. These training sessions should be viewed as a professional development vehicle. It is highly recommended that instructors include all elements of training model in their CATC/Regional instructor training sessions.
The differences among a CATC are responsible for training and supporting Regional Academies. Regional Academies are responsible for training and supporting a minimum number of Local Academies. Local Academies are responsible for teaching students at individual educational institution.
